Middle East Asset Management Forum

The UASA’s General Secretariat participated in the Middle East Asset Management Forum that was organized by the Central Bank of Bahrain in Manama on 15/5/2017. The forum discussed the most important developments in asset management and related regulatory aspects. Within this framework, the UASA’s Secretary-General, Jalil Tarif, reviewed recent developments in Arab capital markets regulatory framework and the role of Arab regulators in supporting and promoting the growth of Arab financial markets. He also reviewed the most important challenges facing regulatory authorities, especially with regard to keeping pace with technological developments in the financial sector, combating cybercrime and implementing the principles of financial markets infrastructure (FMIP). The UASA’s Secretary-General also met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Bourse and reviewed the aspects of joint cooperation between the Union and the Bahraini financial market.
