Financial Inclusion Task Force (FITF) 13th Meeting

The UASA General Secretariat participated in the 13th meeting of the Financial Inclusion Task Force (FITF) organized by the Arab Monitory Fund (AMF) in Abu Dhabi during the period 11-12 March 2018. The Task Force discussed a number of important issues and topics, including the methodology of launching field statistical surveys to monitor aspects of demand for financial services in Arab countries related to the financial services provided to small, medium and micro enterprises and the preparation for a training on these surveys. The meeting also reviewed four working papers on women's financial inclusion, incentive to encourage bank finance start-ups, Finance for rural communities and smallholder farmers, producers and artisans, and the electronic means to promote financial inclusion.
The meeting also discussed the preparation for the Arab Day of Financial Inclusion 2018 corresponding to April, 27th each year, the recent development of the Financial Inclusion for the Arab Region Initiative (FIARI) and the role of FITF in implementing its work plan in 2018.
It is worth mentioning, The FITF is working on developing policies and procedures related to enhancing the financial inclusion in the Arab countries, improving the indicators of their financial inclusion, enhancing the exchange of experiences among the Arab countries, preparing studies and working papers on financial inclusion in the Arab countries. In addition to enhancing awareness of the financial inclusion issues and consumer protection in financial and banking services.
