On 10/12/2022 a decree was issued to form the new Board of Commissioners of the Syrian Securities and Financial Markets Authority headed by Dr. Abdul Razzaq Qassem and Mr. Shadi Bitar as Vice Chairman. The Council also includes in its membership the Deputy Minister of Finance, the Deputy Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, and Dr. Hussein Qabalan from the Faculty of Economics at Damascus University and Dr. Maysoon Al-Masri from the Faculty of Law at Damascus University.
