Ammar Al-Aker appointment as Chairman of the PCMA
The Palestinian Capital Market Authority (PCMA) received its new Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ammar Al-Aker, who began his work as a successor to Dr. Nabil Kassis.
The Palestinian Council of Ministers had decided to appoint Mr. Ammar Al-Aker as Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. (11/219/18/M.W./M.A.) for the year 2023 AD, issued on 8/28/2023 in accordance with the provisions of the Capital Market Authority Law. No. (13) of 2004 and its amendments.
It is noteworthy that Al-Aker held several leadership and executive positions, as he worked as CEO of the Palestine Telecommunications Group from 2010 until 2022 and was also a member of its Board of Directors. Before that, Al-Aker worked as CEO of Jawwal Company, and before that as its CFO. He also worked in several positions in financial management in the Emirates, Canada, and America. He was also, until mid-2023, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arkan Real Estate Company, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vitel Middle East and Africa, and a member of the Board of Directors of PADICO Holding. Al-Aker is considered active on the board of directors of many international and local institutions. He is the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Amideast Organization in Palestine, the Chairman of the Advisory Council of PalTechUs, a member of the Young Leaders Organization (YPO) Palestine Branch, and the Boards of Trustees of An-Najah National University, the Mahmoud Darwish Foundation, and the Mahmoud Darwish Foundation.
