The Union of Arab Securities Authorities (UASA) issued a study on enhancing cooperation in the fields of financial technology and cyber risks for UASA’s members. This study was prepared by a working group tasked with implementing the goals and initiatives for the second pillar of UASA's strategic plan for 2021–2025, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Union. In preparing this study, the working group relied on the efforts made by a number of Arab and regional entities in this field, including international regulators and bodies specializing in the field of financial technology and cyber risks, in addition to the legislation in force among the Union’s members and others. It’s worth noting that the 2021–2025 strategic plan emphasized that issuing such a study will help explore the importance of financial technology and cybersecurity in Arab financial markets across the Union's members. This study aims to identify controls related to financial technology and cybersecurity that help manage their risks, through adopting global best practices, local legislation, cooperation agreements, and exchange of expertise among the Union’s members.
