Seminar on “Introduction to Digital and Virtual Assets” in Doha

The Union of Arab Securities Authorities (UASA), in cooperation with the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, organized a seminar on “Introduction to Digital and Virtual Assets” held on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, at the Wyndham Grand West Bay Beach Hotel in Doha, Qatar, with the participation of a distinguished group of specialists and professionals interested in the fields of digital economy and modern financial technologies.The seminar aimed to provide a practical understanding of the concepts of virtual digital products and services through an overview of cloud computing fundamentals, blockchain technology, digital assets, and cryptocurrencies, in addition to the practical applications of these technologies and key topics related to cybersecurity, compliance, and governance. The seminar also discussed best practices for protecting digital assets and managing associated risks, while highlighting relevant regulatory frameworks, including the guidelines of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
The seminar targeted professionals working in the financial, technological, and legal sectors, as well as investors and individuals interested in the digital economy. It featured interactive sessions and practical case studies that contributed to enhancing participants’ understanding of modern technologies and the related regulatory challenges.
